I photographed Meg Jones, for a feature about Tourettes Syndrome in young adults for The Guardian G2. Tics and seizures usually begin in childhood, however, more and more adolescents are being diagnosed. Meg, 17, began experiencing tics in February 2021, which escalated from neck jerks to hitting her friends and head butting things. By May, she was having seizures. The diagnosis was provisionally given over the phone and Meg is currently on the children and adolescent mental health services waiting list. In Wales, there is currently no paediatric neurologist who specialises in Tourettes.
