Rachel Ashe // Boundless magazine
Rachel Ashe, photographed for Boundless magazine, for a feature of Mental Health Awareness Week. Rachel started Mental Health Swims in 2019 after a cold water plunge “shocked me back into living”. She lives with a personality disorder and was going through a particularly bad period. She says she felt stigmatised and ashamed and wanted to connect with people who felt the same. The monthly swims became popular and attracted people from all ages, backgrounds and genders. By 2020 Rachel was co-ordinating volunteer led swims in 80 locations!
