Faye Bowser, Head of Energy services @siemens_uk , is responsible for the collaboration with The University of Birmingham @unibirmingham , who became the first Uni in the world to roll out Internet of Things technology at scale. The IoT capabilities range from data that helps better manage the flow of people, improve building ventilation or adjust heating. The aim being to lower carbon emissions and to create a “living lab”, where data from the university’s building technologies, infrastructure and energy plants will be used for further innovation, research and development – all with sustainability in mind.
