Hywel began his career in broadcasting at the BBC during the early 1960s . Since then he has become a household name in Wales and one of the most well-known entertainment figures. Hywel is to be awarded with the Outstanding Contribution Award at the forthcoming BAFTA Cymru Awards, which will be held later this month at the ICC in Newport, South Wales.
