Portrait Salon

Many thanks to Emma Taylor of Creative Advice Network (http://www.creativeadvicenetwork.com) for selecting my portrait from 2014’s competition, for the 2015 Portrait Salon publication, celebrating their 5th year. Also for the wonderful text which accompanied it. Honoured!

Emma wrote:

” I scoured through the Portrait Salon archive determined to find a picture in a year other than the one I judged but I just kept coming back to this photograph. I love how Francesca has stood back from the subject, it’s an un-confrontational and unforced portrait. I don’t need to see the whites of his eyes or the lines on his face to know something of his life. For me it’s a portrait in a very pure form. A moment caught in this man’s life. He rests between digging; takes a breath, reflects on his day, his life or the weather. Beautiful.”
